Organic production methods are always at the heart of the way we make Girolomoni pasta. We were organic in Italy when there was not even a law to define organic. We are organic today, now that it has become so popular, and we will be organic tomorrow, whatever happens.
“It might be true that our ideas were mad, but forty years on, our “madness” has become a market.”
Gino Girolomoni, 2010
Gino’s commitment to organic in Italy
The question of certification to protect organic products – a priority in the light of a growing market and of informed consumers, was first systematically dealt with by Gino in 1987. Together with other pioneers in the area, he promoted the founding of the Associazione Marchigiana Agricoltura Biologica (AMAB – Marche Organic Farming Association), the first regional organic control body.
QUALITY CONTROLS
for Girolomoni organic products
Today, Girolomoni organic products are guaranteed by tight controls.
The Cooperative is a fully organic farm (in compliance with EU regulations, according to Reg. EC 834/2007 and 889/2008 and subsequent amendments) certified by ICEA (see all the other Certificates).
As per that set down in Reg. EC 178/2002, to guarantee the full traceability of the finished product, all of the processing stages for Girolomoni organic pasta and products are controlled right from the raw materials through to the finished product.

Organic as a starting point
“Our organic agriculture is not just a means of growing food without using synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, or monocultures, it is a different way of looking at life in an area, with its history, its agriculture, plants, animals, and men.”
