The Girolomoni Cooperative has received many awards through the years, something that makes us believe even more firmly that the path we have chosen is the right one: a kind economy that respects people and the environment, together with organically grown products based on the principles of agroecology.
World Fair Trade Organization Member
In 2023 we became the first 100% Italian agri-food chain to join the World Fair Trade Organization, (WFTO), one of the most authoritative international organizations as a fair trade guarantee system. This recognition guarantees not only a product but the entire enterprise, confirming that we are guided by a mission that puts people and the planet first.
100% certified clean energy, CO2 free
In 2022, we avoided 861,3234 tonnes of CO2. By using energy from renewable sources. We are helping to make the planet a better place to live and guarantee a better future for the next generation!
Where does the energy needed to make pasta come from?
– A woodchip boiler, made from virgin wood from the Marche region, which alone drives the entire drying process;
– Photovoltaic panels on the roofs (to meet 8% of requirements);
– The rest we buy from Dolomitienergia, certified clean energy, 100% Italian and from renewable sources.
When our commitment to the environment can be translated into numbers, it is satisfying.

During the National Festival for a Fair Economy, held annually in Florence, we were presented with an award as Ambassadors for a Fair Economy 2020. “Quality Agricultural Employment Network” INPS
We have been included in the “white list” of the “Quality Agricultural Employment Network”, set up by the INPS (Law no.116 of 11 August 2014, amended by Law no.199 of 29 October 2016) to identify virtuous agricultural businesses throughout Italy.
The aim of the network is to stem the problem of illegal recruitment and employment in farming and agriculture, and to combat the problem of undeclared work. Being registered with the “Quality Agricultural Employment Network” represents acknowledgement of an ethical work organisation and compliance with the law by participating companies.
Green Heroes
We were named “Green Heroes” during the Green Heroes initiative, promoted by the ecological association, The Kyoto Club, by national daily paper La Stampa and famous Italian actor, Alessandro Gassmann. The initiative recognised us as “protagonists of a new economy that refuses waste, that is a friend of the environment, and which produces innovation, income and employment.”

Bio Awards 2018 for spinach fusilli
We received the Bio Awards 2018 prize for our spinach fusilli in the “Special Pasta” category. This is an award that makes us proud, because it is a type of pasta that could not be sold until the 1980s, but it is a variety that we believed in and fought for.

In 2017 Gino Girolomoni was given the CLAI “100% Italian” award as pioneer and father of organic farming in Italy. The award was presented during the 27th Farming Festival in Ravenna, and on the occasion, the current President of the Cooperative, Gino’s son, Giovanni Battista Girolomoni was in attendance.
